MPA Profile
Founded in November, 2009 by Activist, Nathifa Mitchell, the MPA of Trinidad and Tobago seeks to provide support to families who have reported missing persons and to raise awareness of human trafficking as it impacts members of our society. The MPA also provides public education and participates in research and policy recommendations, and seeks to promote an understanding of an international issue in a local context while serving as a leader and resource for the national community. Nathifa’s aunt, Lena Johnson went missing on 8th November, 2008. All efforts to find her proved futile and family members felt that they were not getting sufficient help from the police. This led her to make contact with other families of missing persons and to embark on her own research on human trafficking and to gather statistics on missing persons in Trinidad and Tobago.
Her determination in finding her missing Aunt Lena and to explore all avenues possible to fight against this terrifying menace, Nathifa called her first Public Education Program at City Hall in Port of Spain. Many concerned citizens and family members of missing persons attended.
The MPA of Trinidad and Tobago is here to help you find your loved one we would not give up in locating them, just send us a picture of the missing person and their name, state how long the person has been missing and where the person was last seen.
